With the ever-evolving digital landscape, finding the perfect daily planner app that suits your unique scheduling needs can be quite the quest. But fear not, as the year 2024 brings forth a plethora of options that cater to various preferences, whether you’re flying solo, part of a bustling team, or someone who revels in AI-driven organization. Let’s delve into the 10 best daily planner apps for 2024, ensuring you pick the most efficient tool to optimize your routine and skyrocket your productivity.
The AI-Driven Marvel: Motion
Kicking off our list is Motion, an AI-based daily planner app designed to seamlessly integrate tasks into your calendar. What sets Motion apart is its clever AI assistant, which prioritizes and reschedules tasks based on significance and other crucial factors. Although it’s on the pricier side, Motion’s clean design and dual functionality for task and calendar management make it a standout choice, especially for teams of up to 25 members.
Collaboration and Planning with Akiflow
Next, we have Akiflow, a robust app that mirrors some of Motion’s functionalities but shines with its unique features. Akiflow stands out for its task consolidation capability, pulling tasks from various apps like Slack, Gmail, and Todoist into one comprehensive dashboard. Additionally, its guided planning feature offers a structured end-of-day ritual to help you focus on tomorrow’s tasks, making it a great ally for team collaboration.
For the Solo Organizers: Routine
If you’re navigating the productivity waters solo, Routine could be your best bet. This beautifully designed app not only allows for task and calendar management but also accommodates light note-taking. Its standout feature, console, enables quick task capture on Mac devices, streamlining the process of organizing tasks, events, or notes. While still in its early stages during the recording, Routine’s potential for solo users is undeniably promising.
The Ever-Evolving Todoist
A notable mention goes to Todoist, a well-established name in the task management realm. As of 2024, Todoist is venturing into the daily planner market with new calendar functions, allowing users to weave tasks into a more structured, calendar-based view. This evolution positions Todoist as an all-rounder app that, while maintaining its simplicity, offers a more integrated approach to planning and task management.
Notion: The All-in-One Workspace
Notion, though not specifically a daily planner app, deserves recognition for its flexibility and comprehensive features that cater to both individual users and teams. Its ability to create custom workflows and integrate various work tools into one cohesive platform makes it a versatile choice for those looking to centralize their planning and project management efforts.
Taskade: The Collaborative Choice
Rounding out our selection is Taskade, a newer entrant to the market that focuses on collaboration and simplicity. With its user-friendly interface and flexible structure, Taskade is ideal for teams looking to manage projects, tasks, and notes in a shared workspace. Its adaptability and ease of use make it a strong contender for those prioritizing teamwork and efficient communication.
The quest for the perfect daily planner app in 2024 is filled with a variety of options tailored to different needs and preferences. Whether you’re drawn to the AI capabilities of Motion, the collaborative features of Akiflow, the solo-friendly design of Routine, the evolving functionality of Todoist, the comprehensive workspace of Notion, or the team-oriented structure of Taskade, there’s an app out there to enhance your productivity and streamline your scheduling.

@jordibarguno
Great list, but I would swap Motion with Upbase. In my opinion Motion is insanely overpriced for what it offers. I just dont see the value for money.
I hadn't heard of Ellie Planner. Looks very good, i will check it out.
@DebSchiano
I love your videos, however, I wish you would highlight platform availabilities. Thanks in advance!
@JPinto-sx8yx
I would love to see a video with self-hosted or free/open sources productivity tools, like Week To Do for example.
@jimmybaker4821
honestly motion helped me a lot. i use it with todoist. i find the pricing not good tho and the mobile is app is not good either. but the AI scheduling is awesome.
@user-cf5cy8rb5y
What isthe consensus of using an app like todoist or tick tick or sunsama vs for example Clickup or Asana. Clickup loosk very interesting even for personal use.
@timestripe
8:01 Thank you for your high praise! We do our best to make Timestripe the perfect workspace for everyone. Feel free to share your feature requests. We take all the signals carefully. 👀
@jz4551
Todoist and TickTick have also project managment capability but are present on video.
@robfuzz
I've been experimenting with Akiflow and Sunsama. Each has its merits. Akiflow is still buggy. Sunsama is unique but I really like the hand holding. It's a beautiful app. I've tried Routine and its nice but the mobile app needs a lot of work. Todoist will only fit in this category once and if you can see your calendar events inside Todoist alongside your TD tasks.
@TheINKspiredLife
Fab breakdowns!
@modestbukowski
Hi Francesco,
Thanks for a great video. I was curious how your personal set up looks like?
Are you a one app for one thing kinda guy or do you prefer something like Notion? Calendars etc.
It would be nice to see how you work a full day / week and plan, review etc (also if you journal?).
Thanks!
@Jaszunai
Are daily planners also useful for time blocking?
@L.I.T.H.I.U.M
Twos should be in the list. Or at least will be the top 5 in a few years.
@e.m.a.g876
Fantastical displaying natively Apple Reminders (or Todoist) is the best combo.
@bernard93
Ticktick really is the best after trying tons out there! Super simple and clean
@grovolis
In the Structured app segment, there is a few seconds where Todoist and Sorted 3 appear in the video for no apparent (at least to me) reason! Overall nice video, good to see TickTick making the list, it gets overlooked more often than not while it's got a very robust feature set for a very reasonable price.
@youvegotwings
After refusing forever to try it (I am stubborn), I finally caved and got todoist and wow it is awesome (and cross platform which is awesome), worth all my money. I also use Sunsama, not sure I actually need it (I have a job that doesn’t really work with time blocking) but I do like being forced to take breaks and be more mindful
@morgen2728
"We never did think it was going to be good…" 🤣 we appreciate your candor so much! You're right, this is the direction Morgen is moving so we appreciate you taking note.
@raroque
As the solo-dev behind Ellie, absolutely honored to see my app being mentioned among these incredible apps 🙏
Thanks for the review!
@CliffR
I think going forward you should chapter out free and paid apps
@keithdunlap
If one has MS 365, the integration of Outlook, Teams, Planner, OneNote, and Projects can't be beat. And with the folding of Projects and Lists into Planner and the addition of CoPilot, it just destroys the competition for no additional cost. Why pay an additional price for less integration and functionality? I have experimented with many of the reviewed apps but finally decided to stop spending extra money where it wasn't necessary.
@duir.tattoo
I use noteplan 3 since several month – works fine not only for notetaking with links/ backlinks, but also as taskmanager and daily scheduling. happy with only one app for my whole productivity.
@arwenives
I'm curious what you think about Reclaim? I'm not seeing many channels talk about it and I wish there was more content on it. I'm just started trying it out right now and am using it in conjunction with TickTick (which I've been using for about a year) but watching these videos helps me compare it to other options.
@pedroalvarado3406
I’m a big fan of amie
@charlesbonfante9188
Good video, Thank you! Great not to see a mention of 'Evernote!'. Finally! Well done. Great work.
My take.. Sunsama all day.. slick, great integration wtih Todoist. Too expensive for me though. Akiflow close second… love the UI, better price, just awaiting the Todoist integration to be fixed then I'm in.
@josehonorio5249
Im Brazilian, so i would like to see some free applications, because pay it on dollar here its really not cheap. So if you could show the free versions of some applications like this, or this application, just showing what it can do for free
@erbartlett
I love the reviews, but I want to see the apps themselves. Some of these it looks like you mostly show their website or demo video. One of the biggest pains in picking an app is signing up to see what they actually look like….
@larsonstudios
Could you review Pagico 10 please?
@rebeccajames6977
I'm intrigued by Timestripe as I have been struggling to see the bigger picture and what I'm working towards using other apps. Are there any other apps that take this approach?
@jvalenti370
Thank you!
@nro337
great video!
@vapeurdepisse
Wish Routine wasn't so half-baked and their progress is slooooow. Sunsama is what I used after trying all of these. I still wish something better could come out. Most of these are not well designed.
@Simor222
Although the website tests and evaluates many apps, I find it absolutely embarrassing that such good apps as "FirstSeed calendar" or "FirstSeed Tasks" or "GoodTask" receive no attention on the website. Only the expensive subscription models are presented. I expected more. The website and the YouTube channel are simply not objective for me.
@HarshitaSharma-wh8oj
I like the video!! I am using new platform for my task management myBridge.
